2020 Ford F-150
One of the reasons that the Ford F-150 is one of America's top-selling trucks is due to its reliable performance, impressive towing capacity, and modern technology. Let's look at the key features that make the 2020 Ford F-150 such an appealing full-size pickup truck.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
It's easy to build the F-150 of your dreams with seven trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Limited, Platinum, and the off-road-ready Raptor, combined with a variety of cab and bed configurations. With rugged good looks, including Ford's iconic badge on the front grille, the handsome boxy body style, and large alloy wheels, your F-150 is sure to turn heads.
Engine (Power)
Get all the power you need with six engine choices. At the base is a 3.3-liter V-6 engine delivering 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Paired with this engine is a six-speed automatic transmission. Next up is a 2.7-liter turbocharged V-6 with 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Moving up the power scale is a 3.5-liter turbocharged V-6 that delivers either 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque or one that boosts the horsepower to 450 and the torque to 510.
If you're looking for a diesel engine, the 3.0-liter V-6 Power Stroke turbocharged diesel engine that produces 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque is a good choice. For a robust engine, choose the 5.0-liter V-8 with an output of 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The latter five engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
When properly equipped, your F-150 has a maximum towing capacity of 13,200 pounds, which is plenty for towing a boat or trailer. You have a choice of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive on all trims except the Raptor which comes standard with four-wheel drive. The Raptor is ready to hit rugged off-road trails with long-travel suspension, Fox shocks, and protective skid plates. All trims come with a terrain management system that adjusts the engine, transmission, and steering when weather and driving conditions change.
Interior
Variable cab and bed configurations allow for seating from three to six people. Base trims have cloth seats while the upper trims offer luxurious leather upholstery, contoured, multi-adjustable seats, and dual-zone climate control. The Sync 3 infotainment system has an 8-inch touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Upper trims get voice-activated navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 10-speaker Bang and Olufsen premium audio system.
Safety Features
Whether you're driving into the city for a night on the town or hauling a boat to the lake, it's nice to know that your truck has plenty of safety features. The F-150 uses Ford's Co-Pilot360 bundle of driver-assist features that come standard on all trims. With the bundle, you get pre-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keep assist.
In addition, you'll get these other features with the Co-Pilot360 including intelligent adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, reverse brake assist, a rear-view camera, lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights. To help you with challenging parking, opt for the available Active Park Assist 2.0.
