Ford F-250

In this vehicle review, our team at Cloninger Ford of Hickory will help you dive into the details. The Ford F-250 Super Duty hits the streets looking tougher than ever this year, and we’re eager to show you why!

2020 F-250: Built Ford Tough®

Ford F-250The best pickup trucks are dependable for the long haul. The 2020 F-250 uses a high-strength aluminum-alloy body—the only vehicle in its class to do so, in fact. Far lighter than the previous body, it enhances fuel economy while keeping it dent- and ding-resistant and not susceptible to rust.

Meanwhile, the fully boxed frame is forged from more than 95 percent high-strength steel. It uses up to 10 cross members and is 24 times stiffer than the previous design. It’s made to minimize twisting as well as flexing and to maximize strength and help the F-250 tow and haul more!

The true test of this Ford truck’s build? The F-250 has been tested more than 20 million miles in real and simulated conditions. From extreme temperatures to mud, water, and dust, this Ford can conquer all.

How Much Can the Ford F-250 Tow?

The Super Duty lineup is known for its standout pulling power, and the Ford F-250 is no exception. It can tow up to 20,000 pounds conventionally, letting you hitch up even large boats and camper trailers. With a 5th-wheel/gooseneck setup, you can tow up to 22,800 pounds with the F-250.

The F-250 owes its towing muscle to the available 6.7L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel V8 engine. As one of three possible powerplants to choose from, it offers a clear edge in torque with 1,050 lb-ft of torque. It lends your low-end acceleration a major boost—and your towing ability along with it.

Two other engines are available: the 6.2L Flex Fuel V8 and the 7.3L OHV V8. Both use traditional gasoline fuel and can tow and haul heavy loads, too.
