It's time to take a look at what the top-selling truck in America is up to for the current model year. The Ford F-150 has some new tricks up its sleeves, and it would like to show you what it's made of.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The Ford F-150 is offered in six trim levels: the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. This light-duty truck has three body styles to choose from as well: the regular cab, SuperCab, or SuperCrew. Give your truck one of the three bed lengths to complete your creation. Available exterior features include LED bed lighting, the Pro Power Onboard in-bed outlets, power-deployable running boards, fog lights, LED headlights, and more.
Engine (Power)
America's favorite truck has six engines to choose from in . First is the 3.3-liter V-6 that produces 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 offers 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. Opt for the 5.0-liter V-8 to enjoy 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. The 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel V-6 punches out 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. Choose the 400-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 to get 500 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there's the all-new 3.5-liter hybrid V-6, which delivers 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque.
Every engine is outfitted with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
The Ford F-150 can tow up to 14,000 pounds with a conventional hitch. It can also handle up to 3,325 pounds of payload. Those are both best-in-class numbers. If you want to take advantage of the fuel efficiency the PowerBoost has to offer, you'll still be able to tow up to 12,700 pounds. The F-150 Raptor will be available late in the model year and may be particularly attractive to off-road drivers. The FX4 Off-Road package offers a middle-ground off-roading experience. The F-150's selectable drive modes allow you to warn your truck about the current road conditions.
Interior
With the SuperCrew cab, the F-150 seats up to six passengers. Opt for the available lockable under-seat storage compartments under the rear seats to organize and secure your gear. The available Max Recline seats lean back almost completely flat to give you a relaxing space. Choose an F-150 equipped with the available 12-inch touch screen and interior work surface feature to turn your pickup into a mobile office. Aim for the Lariat level if you're looking for a luxury leather-upholstered truck experience.
Safety Features
The new F-150 features a standard rearview camera, a passive anti-theft system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a full set of air bags. Further prepare your F-150 with the Ford Co-Pilot360 driver-assist technologies. These include the blind spot information system with trailer coverage, which keeps an eye out for vehicles in your blind zone to let you know when it's safe to change lanes. The pre-collision assist helps you reduce the severity of an impact or even avoid it entirely. Other intelligent safety features include the lane-keeping system, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, and more.
