Ford Escape Maintenance Schedule
As you cruise the streets of Valdese, Hickory, and Brookford in your Ford Escape, we wish you fun times and smooth commuting! You’ll want to stay aware of your ride’s services needs as you enjoy your road-trekking adventures, however. Use this Ford Escape maintenance schedule to do just that.
Our guide covers the service intervals you can’t afford to miss for your favorite compact SUV. If you have any questions or want to schedule service, reach out to us at Cloninger Ford of Hickory!
7,500—10,000 Miles: Oil Change Service
Under normal driving conditions, you’ll arrive at your recommended oil change interval near the 7,500- to 10,000-mile mark. You’ll know exactly when this interval arrives by the message on your information display. At every oil change interval, you’ll want to:
- Change the engine oil and filter
- Rotate the tires
- Perform a multi-point inspection
- Inspect the brake pads, rotors, and hoses
- Inspect the engine coolant level and hoses
These service items must be performed every 7,500 to 10,000 miles. Do not exceed one year or 10,000 miles between service intervals to be safe. These are can’t-miss Ford Escape service items!
20,000 Miles: Cabin Air Filter Service
At 20,000 miles, it’s time to have the cabin air filter replaced. This service item will keep the air in your cabin fresh, so you and your passengers can breathe easier.
30,000 Miles: Engine Air Filter Service
At the 30,000-mile mark, plan to swap out your engine air filter. This filter helps prevent harmful debris, dirt, and other contaminants from entering your engine, so it can perform at its best.
100,000 Miles: Spark Plug Replacement
Once you’ve put 100,000 miles on your odometer, it’s time to replace your Ford Escape’s spark plugs. These devices spark the fuel and create combustion in your engine, helping kick your SUV into action.
150,000 Miles: Transmission Fluid Service
The 150,000-mile interval is a major milestone. At this point, change the automatic transmission fluid to keep your transmission running smoothly for years to come. You’ll also need to replace a couple of belts at this interval: your accessory drive belt and (for the 1.5L EcoBoost® engine) timing belt.
200,000 Miles: Engine Coolant Service
If you’re still driving your Ford Escape after 200,000 miles, we commend you! At this point, you need to change your engine coolant. Doing so will help keep your engine from overheating as you drive.
